Description

These festive gingerbread stars, dipped in white chocolate, make for a delightful holiday treat. Perfect for decorations and gifting, they combine classic flavors with a sweet touch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon ground ginger
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups white chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional)
  • Sprinkles (optional)
  • Edible glitter (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
  2. Cream together softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Mix in molasses, egg, and vanilla extract until combined.
  4. Gradually add dry mixture to wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  5. Wrap dough in plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
  6. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Roll out chilled dough to 1/4 inch thick and cut with a star-shaped cookie cutter.
  7. Place stars on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes until edges are golden.
  8. Let cookies cool completely.
  9. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine white chocolate chips and coconut oil, then melt in 30-second intervals until smooth.
  10. Dip cooled stars in the melted white chocolate and let excess drip off. Place on parchment paper to set.
  11. Allow the dipped cookies to set at room temperature.

Notes

Decorate with sprinkles or edible glitter while the chocolate is still wet for extra flair. Enjoy with a cup of hot cocoa!
