Description
A creamy and dreamy sauce that’s a sophisticated alternative to traditional Bolognese, perfect for pasta and other dishes.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 lb ground pork
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 carrots, finely diced
- 2 celery stalks, finely diced
- 2 cups heavy cream or half-and-half
- 1 cup white wine
- Salt and pepper to taste
- A pinch of nutmeg
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, carrot, and celery, and sauté until tender, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add ground beef and pork, cooking until browned and fully cooked.
- Pour in the white wine and let it simmer for a few minutes.
- Slowly stir in the cream, seasoning with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Simmer for another 15 minutes, letting the sauce thicken.
- Toss the sauce over your favorite pasta and top with fresh parsley if desired.
Notes
For a lighter option, consider using ground turkey or chicken. You can substitute heavy cream with whole milk or dairy-free alternatives.
