  • 1/4 cup sugar (for macerating)
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Slice the strawberries and add them to a bowl with 1/4 cup sugar. Let them marinate in the fridge for about an hour.
  2. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  3. Combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
  4. Add the softened butter, milk, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
  5. Pour the batter into a greased cake pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow it to cool.
  6. In a mixing bowl, add heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla. Whip until stiff peaks form.
  7. Slice the cooled cake into two layers. Spread whipped cream on the bottom layer, add macerated strawberries, and repeat with the second layer. Top with a dollop of cream.
