- 4 cups fresh strawberries (sliced)
- 1/4 cup sugar (for macerating)
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Slice the strawberries and add them to a bowl with 1/4 cup sugar. Let them marinate in the fridge for about an hour.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
- Add the softened butter, milk, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
- Pour the batter into a greased cake pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow it to cool.
- In a mixing bowl, add heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla. Whip until stiff peaks form.
- Slice the cooled cake into two layers. Spread whipped cream on the bottom layer, add macerated strawberries, and repeat with the second layer. Top with a dollop of cream.
