The ultimate summer dessert featuring layers of fluffy cake, fresh strawberries, and sweet whipped cream.

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp baking powder
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 pound fresh strawberries (sliced)
- ¼ cup sugar (for strawberries)
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (for whipped cream)
Instructions
- Toss the sliced strawberries with ¼ cup of sugar in a bowl. Let them sit for about 30 minutes to macerate.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Combine flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt in a bowl.
- Add melted butter, milk, and vanilla. Mix until just combined.
- Bake in a greased cake pan for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Beat the heavy whipping cream in another bowl until soft peaks form.
- Add powdered sugar and vanilla, and continue to whip until stiff peaks form.
- Slice the cooled cake in half horizontally. Layer with strawberries and whipped cream in between.
- Top with more strawberries and whipped cream. Serve and enjoy!
