Description

A nostalgic dessert that combines fluffy cake, lush strawberries, and airy whipped cream for a heavenly taste experience.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • Additional strawberries for decoration (optional)
  • Mint leaves for decoration (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix the dry ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add in butter, milk, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until just combined.
  4. Bake the cake batter evenly into two greased 9-inch round cake pans and bake for 25–30 minutes.
  5. Cool the cakes for about 10 minutes in the pans, then turn them out onto wire racks to cool completely.
  6. Chill your mixing bowl and beaters in the freezer for about 10 minutes.
  7. Whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
  8. Layer one cooled cake layer on a serving plate, spread whipped cream, and layer half of your sliced strawberries.
  9. Repeat with the second cake layer and more whipped cream on top.
  10. Decorate the top with remaining strawberries and mint leaves.
  11. Chill the cake for at least an hour before serving.

Notes

This cake can be assembled a day ahead and tastes better after chilling. Use fresh strawberries or any favorite berries.
