- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup cornstarch
- ½ teaspoon salt
- â…“ cup strawberry jam
- Optional: sprinkles or white chocolate drizzle for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, beat the softened butter and powdered sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the creamy butter-sugar mixture until well combined.
- Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and chill it in the fridge for about 30 minutes.
- On a floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thick. Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out shapes.
- Place half of your heart shapes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Add a teaspoon of strawberry jam in the center of each shape.
- Top with the remaining heart shapes and gently press the edges down to seal.
- Bake for 15-18 minutes until the edges are lightly browned.
- Let them cool completely before adding sprinkles or a drizzle of white chocolate.
