Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef (or turkey)
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp ginger, minced
- 2 green onions, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp honey
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp ginger, minced
- 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, minced ginger, chopped green onions, and a sprinkle of salt and pepper. Mix it well and form into balls about 1–1.5 inches in size.
- Heat a large pan over medium heat with a touch of oil. Sear the meatballs for about 4–5 minutes on each side until browned.
- In a saucepan, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, minced garlic, and minced ginger over medium heat until the sugar dissolves. Add the cornstarch and water mixture to thicken the sauce.
- Pour the sauce over the meatballs and let it simmer for about 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
Notes
Great for meal prep; the meatballs hold up well and can be stored in an airtight container for leftovers.
