Description

Classic festive butter cookies that are soft, crumbly, and filled with colorful sprinkles. Perfect for any celebration.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ cups multi-colored holiday sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  6. Roll tablespoon-sized pieces of dough into balls and coat in sprinkles.
  7. Place the dough balls 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheets and gently flatten.
  8. Bake for 9-11 minutes or until the edges are just golden, then cool on a wire rack.

Notes

For a nutty twist, use almond extract instead of vanilla. Store cookies in an airtight container for up to a week, or freeze for up to 3 months.
