Description

Delightfully soft gingerbread cookies infused with warm spices, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon ground ginger
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the flour, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In another bowl, beat the butter and brown sugar together until creamy. Add the molasses, egg, and vanilla. Mix well.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
  5. Roll the dough into balls (about 1 tablespoon each) and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until they’re set but still soft.
  7. Let them cool for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Chill the dough for 30 minutes before rolling for softer cookies. Decorate cooled cookies with icing if desired.
