Ingredients

Scale

2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking powder

½ tsp baking soda

½ tsp salt

½ tsp nutmeg

½ tsp cinnamon

¾ cup butter

1 cup sugar

½ cup brown sugar

2 egg yolks

½ cup eggnog

1 tsp vanilla

1 tsp rum extract (optional)

Frosting:

½ cup butter

2 cups powdered sugar

3 tbsp eggnog

½ tsp vanilla

¼ tsp nutmeg


Instructions

1. Whisk dry ingredients in one bowl.

2. Beat butter and sugars until fluffy.

3. Add egg yolks, eggnog, vanilla, and rum extract.

4. Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.

5. Chill dough for 30–45 minutes.

6. Bake at 350°F for 9–11 minutes.

7. Cool completely.

8. Beat frosting ingredients and spread on cookies.

9. Dust with nutmeg.

Notes

Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days. Perfect for freezing or gifting during the holidays.
