Description

Soft, buttery Christmas sugar cookies that stay tender and delicious for days.


Ingredients

2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking powder

½ tsp baking soda

¼ tsp salt

¾ cup unsalted butter, softened

3 oz cream cheese, softened

1 cup sugar

1 large egg

2 tsp vanilla extract

½ tsp almond extract

Royal icing, sprinkles for decorating


Instructions

1. Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

2. Cream butter, cream cheese, and sugar until light and fluffy.

3. Add egg, vanilla, and almond extract.

4. Gradually add dry ingredients and mix until dough forms.

5. Roll dough ¼ inch thick, cut into shapes.

6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 8–10 minutes.

7. Cool completely before decorating.

Notes

Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days. Freeze undecorated cookies or dough for up to 2 months.
