Description

Effortless and delicious teriyaki meatballs made in a slow cooker, perfect for those lazy days.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef (or turkey)
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce (low-sodium)
  • 1/4 cup honey (or brown sugar)
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic, ginger powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until fully combined.
  2. Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and place on a tray.
  3. (Optional) Pan-sear the meatballs for a couple of minutes until golden brown.
  4. Place the meatballs in the slow cooker.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, cornstarch, and water.
  6. Pour the teriyaki sauce over the meatballs in the slow cooker.
  7. Cook on low for about 6 hours or high for 3 hours, stirring occasionally.
  8. Check for doneness; meatballs should be glazed and cooked through.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days. Reheat in the microwave or slow cooker.
