Description

A delicious and easy slow-cooked chicken shawarma recipe that’s perfect for any day of the week.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs (or breasts)
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons shawarma spice mix
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Toppings: pickles, tahini, cucumbers, tomatoes, pita bread

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the olive oil, shawarma spice mix, lemon juice, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Add the chicken and toss until well coated.
  2. Place the marinated chicken in the slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
  3. Once cooked, shred the chicken with two forks.
  4. Assemble the shawarma by loading the shredded chicken into pita bread and adding your favorite toppings.

Notes

For best results, marinate chicken overnight and garnish with fresh mint and parsley.
