- 2–3 pounds beef chuck roast
- 1 onion, chopped
- 4 cups beef broth
- 2–3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt & pepper to taste
- Texas toast or your favorite bread
- Optional: Mashed potatoes
Instructions
- Season the chuck roast generously with salt and pepper.
- Optional: Sear the beef on each side in a pan for added flavor.
- Add beef, chopped onions, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, and beef broth to the slow cooker and mix.
- Cook on low for 8-10 hours or high for 4-6 hours.
- Shred the beef with two forks when cooked.
- Serve on Texas toast or over mashed potatoes.
Notes
For thicker gravy, mix 1 tablespoon cornstarch with 2 tablespoons cold water and add during the last 30 minutes. Adding heavy cream can also enhance the gravy’s richness.
