- 1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey)
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced (optional)
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp yellow mustard
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 cups biscuit mix (or 2 cups mashed potatoes)
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 egg
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat until no pink remains. Season with salt and pepper.
- Add onion and bell pepper to the skillet and cook until softened, about 4–5 minutes.
- Mix in ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, and garlic powder. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Spread the meat mixture into a 9×13 baking dish.
- Combine biscuit mix, milk, and egg in a bowl until just combined.
- Drop spoonfuls of biscuit dough over the meat.
- Sprinkle cheddar cheese over the biscuit drops.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until golden and bubbly. Let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
