- 1 lb Beef Flank Steak (or sirloin), sliced thinly against the grain
- 1–2 Bell Peppers (any color), sliced
- 1 medium Onion, sliced
- 2–3 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup Soy Sauce
- 2 tablespoons Cornstarch
- Oil (for frying, vegetable or sesame oil)
- 1 tablespoon Ginger, minced (optional)
- Black Pepper, to taste (optional)
- 1 tablespoon Sugar (optional)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together the soy sauce, ginger, sugar, and black pepper to create the marinade.
- Slice the beef thinly and add it to the marinade. Let it sit for at least 30 minutes.
- Stir in the cornstarch right before cooking.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until sizzling.
- Add the marinated beef in a single layer and let it sear for a few minutes without stirring.
- Add minced garlic and stir to combine.
- Add sliced onions and bell peppers to the skillet and stir-fry everything together for about 3-5 minutes until the veggies are tender-crisp.
- Adjust seasonings as needed.
- Remove from heat and garnish with sesame seeds or chopped green onions before serving.
Notes
For an extra touch, serve over rice or noodles, or in lettuce wraps for a low-carb option. Let the meat rest for a few minutes before serving for juicier steak.
