Ingredients

  • 1 lb Beef Flank Steak (or sirloin), sliced thinly against the grain
  • 12 Bell Peppers (any color), sliced
  • 1 medium Onion, sliced
  • 23 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup Soy Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Cornstarch
  • Oil (for frying, vegetable or sesame oil)
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger, minced (optional)
  • Black Pepper, to taste (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together the soy sauce, ginger, sugar, and black pepper to create the marinade.
  2. Slice the beef thinly and add it to the marinade. Let it sit for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Stir in the cornstarch right before cooking.
  4. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until sizzling.
  5. Add the marinated beef in a single layer and let it sear for a few minutes without stirring.
  6. Add minced garlic and stir to combine.
  7. Add sliced onions and bell peppers to the skillet and stir-fry everything together for about 3-5 minutes until the veggies are tender-crisp.
  8. Adjust seasonings as needed.
  9. Remove from heat and garnish with sesame seeds or chopped green onions before serving.

Notes

For an extra touch, serve over rice or noodles, or in lettuce wraps for a low-carb option. Let the meat rest for a few minutes before serving for juicier steak.
