- 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp salt
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp red food coloring
- Powdered sugar (for rolling)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix the vegetable oil and granulated sugar until combined. Add in the eggs, vanilla extract, and red food coloring, and mix until smooth.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture and stir until combined.
- Chill the dough in the fridge for about 30 minutes.
- Scoop out portions of dough (about 1 tablespoon) and roll them into balls. Roll in powdered sugar until covered.
- Place on the prepared baking sheet about 2 inches apart and bake for 10-12 minutes. Allow cooling on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
For a twist, consider adding white chocolate chips or spices like cinnamon for added flavor.
