  • Red Wine

Instructions

  1. Brown the beef in a hot Dutch oven on medium-high heat.
  2. Add chopped onions, carrots, and garlic. Sauté for 5-7 minutes.
  3. Deglaze the pot with red wine, scraping the bottom for flavor.
  4. Add beef broth, herbs, salt, and pepper, then bring to a gentle simmer.
  5. Cover and let simmer for at least 90 minutes.
  6. About 30 minutes before serving, add potatoes to the stew.
