A deliciously easy dessert that combines the flavors of pecan pie with a delightful cake layer on top.

- 1 box of yellow cake mix
- 1 cup of chopped pecans
- 1 cup of brown sugar
- 1 stick of melted butter
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup of corn syrup
- A dash of vanilla extract (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and spray a 9×13-inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
- Dump the cake mix into the prepared dish.
- Sprinkle the chopped pecans over the cake mix.
- Pour the brown sugar evenly on top of the pecans.
- Drizzle the melted butter over the mixture.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, corn syrup, and vanilla (if using), then pour this over the mixture in the baking dish.
- Bake for about 45-50 minutes until the top is golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let it cool before serving warm, optionally with ice cream or caramel sauce.
Notes
For a twist, try using chocolate or spice cake mix. Roasting the pecans can enhance their flavor.
