- 2 cups packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chopped pecans
Instructions
- Brown the butter in a saucepan over medium heat until it turns golden brown and smells nutty.
- In a large bowl, combine the brown sugar and warm brown butter; whisk until smooth.
- Add the eggs one at a time and then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually mix this into the wet ingredients.
- Fold in the chopped pecans gently.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until the edges are golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool in the pan for 20 minutes before cutting into squares.
Notes
For added flavor, consider using chocolate chips or different nuts. Drizzling with caramel before serving is a great touch!
