Description

Crispy, golden-brown fried chicken marinated in a buttermilk bath for unbeatable flavor.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 pieces of chicken (legs, thighs or breasts)
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine chicken and buttermilk. Marinate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix flour, salt, pepper, and paprika.
  3. Heat oil in a cast-iron skillet over medium heat.
  4. Dredge the marinated chicken in the flour mixture, shaking off excess flour.
  5. Fry chicken in hot oil for about 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Drain on paper towels and serve hot.

Notes

For extra crispy skin, double dip the chicken in buttermilk and flour.
