Ingredients
Scale
- 4 Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts
- 4 cups water
- 1/4 cup salt
- 1/4 cup sugar (optional)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil or butter
Instructions
- Brine the chicken by mixing water, salt, and sugar in a bowl. Add the chicken and let it sit in the fridge for 30 minutes.
- Use a meat mallet to gently flatten the chicken to about 1-inch thickness.
- Season generously with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- For pan-searing: Heat olive oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat. Cook chicken for 5-6 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
- For oven-baking: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Drizzle olive oil over chicken, place in a baking dish, cover with foil, and bake for about 25-30 minutes. Uncover and bake for an additional 10 minutes until golden.
- Let the chicken rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.
Notes
Serve with roasted veggies, garlic mashed potatoes, or quinoa salad for a complete meal. Letting the chicken rest after cooking is essential for juiciness.
