Description

This delightful Maple Pecan Pie features a gooey, caramel-like filling studded with crunchy pecans, all nestled in a sweet, nutty brown sugar crust.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (cubed and chilled)
  • 1 cold egg yolk
  • 23 tablespoons cold water
  • 1 cup pecans (chopped)
  • 1 cup pure maple syrup
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Combine the flour and brown sugar in a large bowl.
  2. Cut the butter into the mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Stir in the egg yolk and add cold water one tablespoon at a time until the dough holds together.
  4. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  6. Roll out the dough until about 1/8-inch thick and transfer to a 9-inch pie pan, crimping the edges.
  7. Prick the bottom with a fork and pre-bake for 10-15 minutes until lightly golden.
  8. In a large bowl, whisk together maple syrup, brown sugar, melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
  9. Fold in the chopped pecans.
  10. Pour the filling into the pre-baked crust and bake for 45-50 minutes until the filling is set but still jiggles slightly.
  11. Cool for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

Serve with whipped cream, vanilla ice cream, or caramel sauce for an extra treat. Store wrapped in plastic for up to 2 days or in the fridge for up to one week.
