- 2–3 Chicken breasts
- 1 cup Pecans, chopped
- 1/2 cup Maple syrup
- 1/4 cup Bourbon
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
- Olive oil, for cooking
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Optional: a dash of cayenne pepper
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Combine in a medium bowl: maple syrup, bourbon, soy sauce, minced garlic, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
- Pat dry your chicken breasts and season with salt, pepper, and cayenne if desired.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the chicken breasts and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Pour the glaze over the chicken and spoon it repeatedly for 2-3 minutes.
- Transfer the chicken to the baking sheet, sprinkle with pecans, and bake for 20-25 minutes until cooked through (165°F or 75°C internally).
- Let the chicken rest for a few moments and drizzle with any leftover glaze before serving.
Notes
Try using boneless skinless chicken thighs for a juicier meal. Gluten-free? Swap soy sauce for gluten-free tamari.
