Ingredients

Scale
  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1½ teaspoons baking powder
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)

  2. Mix together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring they’re well incorporated.
  4. Add the lemon zest and lemon juice.
  5. Gradually add the flour, baking powder, and salt, alternating with the milk. Mix until combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Whisk together powdered sugar and lemon juice for the glaze. Drizzle over the cooled cake.

Notes

Make sure to use room temperature ingredients for better blending. Don’t skip the lemon zest for maximum flavor.
