Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract; mix until combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt, then gradually add to the wet mixture until just combined.
  5. Scoop dough balls onto a lined baking sheet and space them out.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until edges are golden brown and centers look slightly underbaked.
  7. Let cookies cool before transferring to a wire rack.
  8. Sprinkle a thin layer of granulated sugar on cooled cookies and caramelize using a kitchen torch.
