- 1 cup milk

Instructions
- Heat a large pot over medium heat and sear the beef cubes until golden brown (5-7 minutes).
- Add onions and garlic, sauté until translucent.
- Stir in tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, and a dash of red wine; cook for 2 minutes.
- Pour in beef broth, add carrots, potatoes, fresh herbs, and season with salt and pepper.
- Bring to a boil, reduce to low heat, cover, and simmer for 1.5 to 2 hours.
- In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt for the dumplings.
- Cut in butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs, then stir in milk until just combined.
- Drop spoonfuls of dumpling batter onto the stew.
- Cover and let dumplings steam in the broth for 15-20 minutes.
