Description
A rich and creamy Indian classic that combines marinated chicken in a velvety sauce, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 500g boneless chicken, cut into pieces
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 can (400g) crushed tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 cup heavy cream
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken by mixing yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric, red chili powder, and garam masala in a bowl. Add chicken pieces and coat well. Let it marinate for at least 1 hour, ideally overnight.
- In a large pan, heat oil and sauté the marinated chicken until golden brown. Remove the chicken and set aside.
- In the same pan, melt butter, add chopped onions, and cook until golden brown. Add crushed tomatoes and sugar, cooking until the sauce reduces and thickens.
- Add the chicken back to the pan and stir in the heavy cream. Let it simmer for 10-15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- Garnish with coriander leaves and serve with naan or rice.
Notes
