A simple and flavorful honey garlic chicken recipe made effortlessly in a crockpot, perfect for busy days.

- 8 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 tablespoons chopped green onions for garnish
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- Pat the chicken thighs dry with a paper towel.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, ketchup, minced garlic, olive oil, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes.
- Place the chicken thighs in the bottom of your crockpot.
- Pour the honey garlic sauce evenly over the chicken.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
- Carefully remove the cooked chicken from the crockpot and pour the liquid into a saucepan. Simmer for 5-7 minutes.
- Spoon the reduced sauce over the chicken, garnish with green onions and sesame seeds, and serve immediately.
Notes
Can use sugar-free ketchup and a natural sweetener for a healthier option. You may also swap ketchup for hoisin sauce for more flavor.
