Description

A simple and flavorful honey garlic chicken recipe made effortlessly in a crockpot, perfect for busy days.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onions for garnish
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken thighs dry with a paper towel.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, ketchup, minced garlic, olive oil, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes.
  3. Place the chicken thighs in the bottom of your crockpot.
  4. Pour the honey garlic sauce evenly over the chicken.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
  6. Carefully remove the cooked chicken from the crockpot and pour the liquid into a saucepan. Simmer for 5-7 minutes.
  7. Spoon the reduced sauce over the chicken, garnish with green onions and sesame seeds, and serve immediately.

Notes

Can use sugar-free ketchup and a natural sweetener for a healthier option. You may also swap ketchup for hoisin sauce for more flavor.
