- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp baking powder

- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, chopped
- 1 cup heavy cream (for frosting)
- 3 tbsp powdered sugar (for frosting)

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- Mix your dry ingredients: combine flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
- Cream together butter and sugar in another bowl until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time and mix well, then pour in vanilla extract.
- Gradually add your dry ingredients alternating with milk to the butter mixture.
- Fold in chopped fresh strawberries.
- Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Cool cakes on a wire rack before frosting.
- Whip cream until soft peaks form, then fold in powdered sugar and vanilla extract for the frosting.
- Frost your cooled cake layers and add sliced strawberries on top.
