Ingredients

  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables
  • 2 cups pasta (elbow macaroni or any short pasta)
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • Garlic cloves, minced
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • Olive oil (for cooking)
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning or red pepper flakes
  • Optional: Toppings like crunchy breadcrumbs or more cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and sauté until translucent. Then, toss in the garlic and ground beef, cooking until browned.
  3. Stir in the tomato sauce, beef broth, and frozen veggies. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
  4. Stir in the uncooked pasta and add salt and pepper to taste, along with any optional spices.
  5. Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish and top with shredded cheese.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for another 15-20 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  7. Let it cool for about 5 minutes before serving.
