Ingredients

  • 2 to 3 pounds pork shoulder
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1 onion (sliced)
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • Optional: A shot of apple cider vinegar

Instructions

  1. Trim any excessive fat from the pork shoulder.
  2. In a bowl, combine the BBQ sauce, minced garlic, smoked paprika, brown sugar, salt, and pepper. Add apple cider vinegar if desired.
  3. Layer sliced onion at the bottom of the slow cooker, place the pork shoulder on top, and cover with the BBQ mixture.
  4. Cook on low for 8 to 10 hours or on high for 4 to 6 hours.
  5. Once cooked, remove the pork, shred with two forks, and mix back into the remaining sauce in the slow cooker.
