Description
A delicious pecan pie recipe that skips the corn syrup for a healthier, sweeter alternative using natural sweeteners.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 unbaked pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 cup pecan halves
- 1 cup maple syrup (or your sweetener of choice)
- 3 large eggs
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare the pie crust by laying it in your pie dish or rolling it out if homemade.
- In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, melted butter, maple syrup, vanilla, and salt until smooth. Add pecans and cinnamon, mixing gently.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared pie crust, spreading the pecans evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, until set in the center.
- Let cool for at least two hours before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
Keep an eye on the baking pie to prevent burning the edges. Fresh pecans will yield better flavor.
