Description

A rich and gooey deep dish pecan pie filled with crunchy pecans and a sweet filling, perfect for the holiday season.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (cold and cubed)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 68 tbsp ice water
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 4 large eggs
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups pecan halves

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the flour, salt, and sugar.
  2. Add the butter and cut it into the dry ingredients until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Gradually add the ice water a tablespoon at a time and mix until the dough comes together.
  4. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 30 minutes.
  5. In a bowl, whisk together the corn syrup, brown sugar, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla.
  6. Fold in the pecans.
  7. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  8. Roll out the dough and fit it into a 9-inch deep-dish pie pan.
  9. Pour the filling into the crust.
  10. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the filling is set and the top is golden brown.
  11. Allow the pie to cool for at least two hours before serving.

Notes

Add chocolate chips or bourbon to elevate the flavor. Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
