Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup butter (softened)
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare a 9×13 inch baking dish by greasing and flouring it or lining with parchment paper.
  3. Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl.
  4. Cream the butter and sugar in a large mixing bowl until fluffy.
  5. Add the eggs one by one, beating well after each addition.
  6. Mix in the guava puree and vanilla extract.
  7. Incorporate the dry mixture into the wet batter, alternating with the milk.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove and cool completely on a wire rack.
  10. Spread your preferred frosting over the cooled cake, and add any toppings if desired.

Notes

For best results, avoid overmixing the batter and use ripe guavas for the puree.
