Description

A deliciously fun twist on the classic crème brûlée dessert, these cookies combine rich flavors and textures for a delightful treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for the topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Mix together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  4. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in another bowl. Slowly add this mix to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, giving them space to spread.
  6. Bake for about 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are golden but the centers are still soft.
  7. Sprinkle a pinch of granulated sugar on top of each cookie and caramelize it using a kitchen torch or broiler.

Notes

Don’t overbake the cookies; let them cool before sealing up in an airtight container.
