Ingredients

- Spaghetti or penne pasta
- 2 cans of crushed or diced tomatoes
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon basil
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Boil a large pot of water, add salt, and cook the pasta until al dente according to package instructions. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onion and garlic; sauté until fragrant and translucent.
- Add canned tomatoes to the skillet, stir, and season with salt, pepper, basil, and oregano. Let simmer for about 10 minutes.
- Pour in the heavy cream and mix well. If the sauce is too thick, adjust with reserved pasta water.
- Toss the cooked pasta into the sauce, coating well. Adjust seasoning to taste.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil and parmesan cheese if desired.
Notes
Customize with spinach or kale for added nutrition. Sprinkle with parmesan for extra flavor.
