Description

A comforting and delicious pasta dish featuring a rich and creamy tomato sauce.


Ingredients

Scale
  • Spaghetti or penne pasta
  • 2 cans of crushed or diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon basil
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Boil a large pot of water, add salt, and cook the pasta until al dente according to package instructions. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onion and garlic; sauté until fragrant and translucent.
  3. Add canned tomatoes to the skillet, stir, and season with salt, pepper, basil, and oregano. Let simmer for about 10 minutes.
  4. Pour in the heavy cream and mix well. If the sauce is too thick, adjust with reserved pasta water.
  5. Toss the cooked pasta into the sauce, coating well. Adjust seasoning to taste.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil and parmesan cheese if desired.

Notes

Customize with spinach or kale for added nutrition. Sprinkle with parmesan for extra flavor.
