A rich and gooey Southern staple dessert filled with pecans, perfect for any festive occasion.
Ingredients

- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup unsalted butter (cold and cubed)
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 6–8 tablespoons ice water
- 1 cup corn syrup
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 ½ cups pecans (chopped)
- Optional: ½ cup chocolate chips
- Optional: 1 tablespoon bourbon
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix flour and salt.
- Add the cold butter and mix until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Gradually add ice water, one tablespoon at a time, until the dough comes together.
- Form a disk, wrap it in plastic, and chill for at least 30 minutes.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the corn syrup, sugar, eggs, vanilla, and melted butter.
- Stir in the pecans (and chocolate chips and/or bourbon, if desired).
- Roll out the chilled dough on a floured surface to fit your pie dish (12-inch circle).
- Transfer the crust to the dish and press it into the sides.
- Pour in the pecan filling and spread the pecans evenly.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 60-70 minutes until set.
- Let the pie cool completely on a wire rack before serving.
Notes
Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for a delightful touch. This pie can be made ahead and is freezer-friendly.
