Description
Soft and buttery cookies with a delightful powdered sugar coating, perfect for the holiday season.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then mix in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Slowly add this mixture to the wet ingredients until fully combined, being careful not to overmix.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving space between them.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the tops look slightly puffed. Let cool for about five minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- Dust the cookies with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
Cookies may look under-baked when removed from the oven but will continue to cook on the tray. Can be frozen prior to baking for later enjoyment.
