- 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 large egg
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a separate bowl, cream the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and mix until combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing just until combined.
- Use a cookie scoop or your hands to form balls of dough and place them 2 inches apart on a baking sheet.
- Bake for about 10-12 minutes, keeping an eye on them.
- Let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Cool cookies completely before storing in an airtight container. You can add chocolate chips or candy cane pieces on top before baking for extra flavor.
