Description

Delicious chocolate sugar cookies that blend sweetness with a hint of cocoa, perfect for the holidays.


Ingredients

  • 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and mix until combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing just until combined.
  6. Use a cookie scoop or your hands to form balls of dough and place them 2 inches apart on a baking sheet.
  7. Bake for about 10-12 minutes, keeping an eye on them.
  8. Let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Cool cookies completely before storing in an airtight container. You can add chocolate chips or candy cane pieces on top before baking for extra flavor.
