Description

Delicious chocolate thumbprint cookies with a rich chocolate center, perfect for impressing your loved ones.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup (170g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 2/3 cup (135g) granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • Optional: flaky sea salt, powdered sugar, or jam for variety

Instructions

  1. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Beat in the egg and vanilla until silky.
  3. Add flour and cocoa, mixing just until dough comes together.
  4. Roll 1-tablespoon portions into balls and press a thumbprint into each.
  5. Chill for 15–20 minutes.
  6. Melt chocolate chips with cream in the microwave, spoon into thumbprints.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10–12 minutes.
  8. Cool on baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Don’t overfill thumbprints with chocolate, use good quality chocolate for melting, and rotate the pan for even baking.
