- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup corn syrup
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups chopped pecans
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, and salt. Add butter and mix until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Press the mixture evenly into the bottom of a greased 9×9-inch baking pan and bake for 10-12 minutes until lightly golden.
- In another bowl, whisk together corn syrup, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
- Beat in eggs and vanilla extract until combined.
- Fold in chopped pecans and chocolate chips.
- Pour the filling over the hot crust and return it to the oven for another 30-35 minutes until set.
- Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
Notes
Store in an airtight container for up to 4-5 days. Serve with vanilla ice cream for an extra treat.
