Description

These delightful bars combine the sweet richness of pecan pie with gooey chocolate chips for a treat that will impress everyone.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped pecans
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, and salt. Add butter and mix until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Press the mixture evenly into the bottom of a greased 9×9-inch baking pan and bake for 10-12 minutes until lightly golden.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together corn syrup, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  5. Beat in eggs and vanilla extract until combined.
  6. Fold in chopped pecans and chocolate chips.
  7. Pour the filling over the hot crust and return it to the oven for another 30-35 minutes until set.
  8. Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.

Notes

Store in an airtight container for up to 4-5 days. Serve with vanilla ice cream for an extra treat.
