Description

Delicious brown butter cookies with toasted pecans that bring a magical flavor to your holiday baking.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups pecans, toasted and chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat and cook until golden brown, stirring frequently.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the slightly cooled brown butter with both sugars and beat until well combined.
  4. Beat in the eggs and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix just until a dough forms.
  7. Fold in the toasted pecans until evenly distributed.
  8. Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough onto prepared baking sheets and bake for 9-11 minutes until the edges are lightly golden.

Notes

For a thicker, chewier cookie, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking. You can also freeze the dough balls for later use.
