Description
A delightful twist on a classic pecan pie, enhanced with bourbon and chocolate for a rich, flavorful treat.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ½ cups pecans (halved or chopped)
- 1 cup dark chocolate chips (bittersweet or semi-sweet)
- ¾ cup light corn syrup
- ¾ cup brown sugar (packed)
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 3 large eggs
- ¼ cup bourbon
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 pre-made pie crust
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- If using a homemade pie crust, prepare by mixing flour, salt, and sugar, cutting in butter, and adding ice water. Chill for at least 30 minutes.
- Roll out the crust and fit it into a 9-inch pie pan. Pre-bake for 10-15 minutes.
- In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter, corn syrup, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until well combined.
- Add in eggs, bourbon, vanilla extract, and salt, mixing until smooth.
- Fold in dark chocolate chips and pecans.
- Pour the filling into the pre-baked crust.
- Bake for 40-50 minutes until the center is set but slightly jiggly. Cover edges with foil if browning too quickly.
- Let the pie cool to room temperature and then chill in the fridge for at least 1 hour before serving.
- Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream, and enjoy!
Notes
For best flavor, allow the pie to chill overnight before serving.
