Delicious chocolate cookies packed with juicy cherries, inspired by the classic Black Forest cake.
Ingredients

- 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 cup chopped cherries (fresh or canned)
- 1 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Fold into wet mixture until just combined.
- Fold in cherries and chocolate chips.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto a lined baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes.
- Cool on baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Serve warm with ice cream or drizzle with whipped cream. Add a cherry on top for a classic touch.
