Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 ½ cups sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon almond extract
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar (for rolling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. Cream together softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg, vanilla, and almond extract.
  5. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture.
  6. Scoop out about a tablespoon of dough, roll into a ball, and roll in granulated sugar.
  7. Place dough balls on a greased baking sheet, leaving space between them.
  8. Gently press down on each cookie ball to flatten slightly.
  9. Bake for about 8–10 minutes or until edges are slightly golden.
  10. Let cookies sit on the baking sheet for a couple of minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
