- 8 oz Ziti or Penne pasta
- 1 lb Lean ground beef
- 2 cups Mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1 cup Ricotta cheese
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 2 cups Marinara sauce
- 1 tsp Oregano
- 1 tsp Basil
- 1 tsp Garlic powder
- 1 Onion, chopped
- 2 tbsp Olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onions and sauté until translucent. Add ground beef and cook until browned.
- Season the beef with garlic powder, oregano, and basil. Drain excess fat, add marinara sauce, and stir to combine.
- In a large bowl, mix cooked pasta with ricotta cheese until well-coated. Combine pasta-ricotta mix with the beef and sauce.
- Layer the mixture in a baking dish, starting with a scoop of beefy pasta, adding mozzarella in between layers, and finishing with more mozzarella and parmesan on top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until cheese is golden and bubbly.
- Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
You can store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3-4 days or freeze them for up to 3 months.
