Description

A comforting and satisfying baked pasta dish, perfect for family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz Ziti or Penne pasta
  • 1 lb Lean ground beef
  • 2 cups Mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup Ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 cups Marinara sauce
  • 1 tsp Oregano
  • 1 tsp Basil
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 Onion, chopped
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onions and sauté until translucent. Add ground beef and cook until browned.
  3. Season the beef with garlic powder, oregano, and basil. Drain excess fat, add marinara sauce, and stir to combine.
  4. In a large bowl, mix cooked pasta with ricotta cheese until well-coated. Combine pasta-ricotta mix with the beef and sauce.
  5. Layer the mixture in a baking dish, starting with a scoop of beefy pasta, adding mozzarella in between layers, and finishing with more mozzarella and parmesan on top.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until cheese is golden and bubbly.
  7. Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

You can store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3-4 days or freeze them for up to 3 months.
