Description

Traditional Italian wafer cookies flavored with anise, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 2 teaspoons anise extract or ground anise seeds
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix your dry ingredients.
  2. In another bowl, whisk your eggs, sugar, and melted butter until combined.
  3. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until smooth.
  4. Preheat the pizzelle iron to medium heat.
  5. Pour a tablespoon of batter onto each side of the iron, close it, and bake for 30 seconds to 1 minute.
  6. Let the pizzelles cool on a wire rack before serving.

Notes

You can sprinkle powdered sugar on top or dip them in chocolate for an extra treat.
